Disconnect from a WiFi network in Mac without turning off the Wireless

Disconnect from a WiFi network on your macbook or iMac without turning off the entire WiFi. All other multi platform operating systems like Windows, Android, iOS, etc provide the option to disconnect the WiFi network. You cant find it straight on Mac OS X.

For doing it simply press and hold the “Option” key and click on the WiFi icon on the menubar. It will list with a detailed information about the currently connected wireless network along with the function to disconnect from the current wireless network. Can also view wireless network details like IP address, Gateway, security protocols, signal strength, BSSID, etc.
